If you’ve been following me on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve probably seen all the posts about the shop here at Gailavira Jewelry going out of business. Honestly, it’s been a long time coming. I don’t plan to leave the wire wrapping world. I just need to restructure my business. I’m going to set aside the more ornate, one of a kind pieces that I’ve been known for on this site and focus more on teaching again. I used to teach a lot… many many years ago. But I had ideas for different jewelry lines using different mediums and different techniques. I took time to play around and explore what else I could do. And in doing that I got sidetracked. Somehow I got so busy with everything else I had going on that the teaching ended up being put on hold. After being on hold for so long, it just got forgotten.
On the bright side though, I don’t just do wirework anymore. I do a lot of work with both polymer and epoxy clay. I’ve learned a few metalworking techniques. I also paint, so I have tons of ideas on how to incorporate that into mixed media jewelry. I’ve played with resin, though I’m not very good at it. Well, not yet anyway. All of this means I have about a million ideas for different projects that I can’t wait to get started on (um… as soon as I clean out both workrooms again. lol)
Once I get everything set up to where I can work on tutorials again I’ll be coming out with new designs to teach. I’ll probably still focus mostly on wirework. But I’m hoping to incorporate some of the other things I’ve learned to do over the years as well. I’m hoping to have new PDF tutorials on WireJewelryTutorials.com within a couple months. I’ll probably also do some more video tutorials soon as well. You can find the ones I’ve already done on the GailaviraJewelryWJT youtube channel.

I’ll also still be selling ear cuffs and other jewelry through my Shut Up and Cuff Me Etsy shop, so be sure to check that out if you’re ever in the mood for something fun. Also keep an eye out for a Shut Up and Cuff Me stand alone web-site too. That is, if I can stop procrastinating long enough to get it done 😉 .
